Infusing with Elastomeric Pumps

SMARTeZ  Pump allows medication to be delivered to the patient by positive pressure applied by the elastomeric membrane. The flow rate is determined by the combination of the flow regulation device (flow restrictor) and positive pressure. This pressure delivers the solution against the back-pressure of catheters and blood pressure in the veins. Back-pressure affects the flow rate.

The Right Choice with SMARTeZ  Pumps:

Beyond just DEHP and Latex Free!

Not all pumps are created Equal. SMARTeZ offers unique differences that supports safe and effective infusion for patients. Caregivers find the pump very easy to use. Of course, DEHP and Latex Free is a standard specification.

2 Membranes Better than 1

The SMARTeZ  Pump has 2 layers of silicone membranes. This improves flow accuracy and reduces residual volume when infusion is complete.

Extractables and Leachable

The SMARTeZ  Pump obtained USFDA clearance in 2015 (K151650). All pumps cleared after 2014 are required to comply to Extractable and Leachable Testing in accordance to FDA Guidance “Infusion Pumps Total Product Life Cycle“ dated Dec 2014. Chemical characterization performed in Extractable and Leachable tests ensures that the SMARTeZ  is safe from health risks associated with exposure to chemical elements released from the materials used.

Flow Accuracy

Each SMARTeZ  Pump is calibrated to ensure that the pressure generated in a filled pump delivers the intended flow rate with the flow restrictor that is attached.

Drug Stability Studies

Extensive drug studies are conducted with SMARTeZ  Pumps. These are documented in American Society of Healthcare Professionals (ASHP) Manual of Extended Parenteral Drug Studies 6th Ed. 2017. The use of silicone material as the drug reservoir facilitates compatibility with a broader range of drugs.

Mobile App Support

Several Mobile Apps are available to improve patient user outcomes in alternate sites and at home.

VSCAN enables an assessment of the volume of medication remaining in the pump and also reminds users of imminent end of infusion. Pharmacists benefit from the easily accessible information on pump filling specifications.

SMARTeZ  Chemo CS App (Chemo Closed System Pump) helps eliminate human errors and improves Patient safety with its on-board drug library.

SMARTeZ  Rigid Shell Pumps

Rigid Shell Pumps

The Fluid Path materials used in Rigid Shell Pumps as well as the performance specifications are similar as the soft-shell versions. Like all rigid shell pumps, the over filling of such pumps is physically constrained by the volume size of the shells. The pump does not get smaller even when fluid is infused, hence it does not provide the convenience found in soft shell pumps. The visual scale markings serve only as estimated indicator of the remaining fluid in the pump.

JustONE PCA Pumps

JustONE PCA Pumps

With JustONE PCA Pumps, both bolus and flow selection functions are integrated in one patient-controlled device. This design affords patient user convenience. There are only 4 step (customized) flow selection rates in JustONE PCA. The maximum bolus volume is 2 ml. The bolus Refill or Lock Up times are available as customizable options.

SMARTeZ  with 7 Step FloSelect

7 Step FloSelect

The 7 step Flow Selectable Rates are 1 ml/H to 7ml/H or 2ml/H to 14 ml/H. The flow selection knob is removable to cater for situations where the patient is not allowed to make unattended flow rate selection.

SMARTeZ  with Bolus PCA and 7 Step FloSelect and Bolus PCA

SMARTeZ  with Bolus PCA and 7 Step FloSelect and Bolus PCA

This Pump has a bolus device in addition to the 7 step Flo Select. The maximum bolus volume is 2 ml. The bolus Refill or Lock Up times are available as customizable options.

SMARTeZ  CS Chemo Pump

SMARTeZ  CS Chemo Pump

This Chemo Pump is unique as it combines the ProSeal exposure safe elements with a reputable SMARTeZ  Chemo Pump. The vented Patient end cap allows instantaneous priming, enabling utmost efficiency in high filling workload. The ProSeal components ensures that the Pump is completely closed when delivered to the patient with no residues (Dry Connection) on the injection sites. Connecting to patient access site is easy with the Proseal Injector as there is no screwing of Luer connectors. Disengagement after infusion leaves dry contamination free surfaces.
